In many of the PCB Boards and sensors we use various shorted caps and headers to select the mode it is working in. It can be used to change the I2C address and either turn on the backlight on a LCD or you can use it to connect to use it as makeshift pull up or pull down resistors. This Jumper shorted Cap is designed for 0.1 inch/2.55 mm spacing boards which is standard and this shunt can handle the maximum current that flows through the board as it is made up of copper alloy and it has a maximum current rating of 2A. Its housing is made up of thermoplastic which will save you from the electric shocks and prevent the damage if stray wire touches it or static electricity.
